Child Safety

Peninsula Grammar has zero tolerance for child abuse and is committed to the protection of all children from all forms of child abuse.  Every staff member at Peninsula Grammar is responsible for the care and protection of the students in our care and the reporting of information about suspected child abuse.

 

Boarding House Supervisors – Part-time

Peninsula Grammar is seeking to employ Boarding House Supervisors to support the work of the existing staff in our Boys Boarding House (Jaffray House). This appointment is from the commencement of Term 3 2019.

The role involves supervising and assisting students at meal times, during recreational activities and importantly during their scheduled study time. Applicants must have a genuine desire to work with adolescents (largely international students) who are living away from home, be committed to developing positive relationships with the boarders and being a supportive presence in the Boarding House. The work may involve both weekday and weekend shifts and in some cases may involve overnight supervision. Experience in residential care would be an advantage but is not essential. School Psychologist/Counsellor

Part-time, ongoing (approximately 0.8) commencing as soon as practical.

We are seeking a School Psychologist/Counsellor to provide psychological counselling for a range of mental health, emotional, social and behavioural issues at Peninsula Grammar. The successful candidate will support the welfare, wellbeing and pastoral care needs of students across the School (Kindergarten to Year 12). This position also offers an exciting opportunity to play a significant role in the further development of pro-active programs and activities that assist to promote positive student wellbeing.

The successful applicants must be aligned with the School's ethos, vision and values and supportive of the School's approach to Positive Psychology, details of which can be found on our website under Our School.

The successful applicants will:

  • Be a registered psychologist/counsellor with AHPRA;
  • Demonstrate highly developed counselling skills with capacity to interact with students, parents and staff;
  • Ideally have experience in primary and/or secondary school settings;
  • Have a strong focus on proactive programs;
  • Be able to create and present professional development to a range of audiences;
  • Be able to develop and implement a range of preventative programs for students;
  • Display empathy, commitment, resilience and be highly motivated to contribute;
  • Have a strong moral and ethical compass and cultivate credibility and honesty;
  • Possess a positive outlook, exceptional interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence with demonstrated ability to build authentic, collaborative relationships.
